Bethel Community Church

BCC came to me in spring 2026 with an urgent need to redesign their WordPress website. They had been working on the project for over a year, but struggled to make progress on their own and with other designers. I was thrilled to step in and help bring their story to life digitally, creating a beautiful, user-friendly website designed to serve both their internal stakeholders and first-time visitors for years to come.

DISCOVERY

  • Refresh the visual experience: Create a cleaner, more modern look that felt welcoming without losing the church’s personality.

  • Showcase their people: Incorporate recent photography to authentically represent BCC’s church family and community.

  • Lead with their values: Bring BCC’s core values to the forefront so visitors could quickly understand who they are and what they care about.

BEFORE

THE PROCESS

  • Iterate with intention: We explored multiple homepage directions to identify what felt most natural and best reflected BCC’s church family.

  • Build a flexible system: I developed reusable page templates and modular components to create consistency across the site while making future pages easier to build.

  • Design for familiarity: Consistent patterns and repeatable modules help users navigate the site more intuitively and create a cohesive experience from page to page.

HANDOFF

A great website isn’t just about delivering a polished final product. It’s also about giving stakeholders the confidence and tools to build on it long after launch. To make that possible, I provided instructional calls and video walkthroughs to demonstrate how to manage and update their newly designed site.

  • Clean up the foundation: I identified and resolved issues with outdated plugins and broken code to ensure the site was stable and ready for launch.

  • Collaborate through feedback: We worked through several rounds of feedback, refining the design and functionality until the client felt confident and excited to share the new website with their congregation.

  • Set them up for success: The final handoff gave their team a clear understanding of how to maintain the site and continue building on the design system moving forward.
